Edith has never met her aunt Adalyn.
And Adalyn, only wanting to belong, makes a spell that doesn't necessarily go well; she casts a shadow on the town of Brichwood Wells.

And while the spell was meant to get people to like her, she becomes the most hated person to ever live. But to cover her mistake, she blames the only relative she has. Her sister.

Now missing, the town is at risk of being completely destroyed, and the only people looking for the truth is 10 year old Edith, a black cat she just met, and a crow that won't stop following them.

Can she find Adalyn and make things right, or will she only make things worse and lose herself in the process.
