"Why did you run from me?"

I could hear her breathing, and I could hear her heartbeat through the damn speaker, but she was just silent, not uttering a single word.

Her silence annoyed me in a way. But I just had to exercise patience, something I was not really good at.

"Where did you get my number?" she asked, clearly trying to change the topic.

"I have my ways" I answered lightly. Even I could hear the smirk in my own voice.

"I see. I'm guessing that is what makes you think you can question me like this?" She fired.

Smart mouth!

I almost chuckled at how confident she was trying to sound. It would have worked, if not for the fact that her heartbeat was telling me otherwise. She was scared.

"I think the passionate night we shared-" I began, only to be cut short. Now that did not sit well with me, at all.

"I would really appreciate it if you do not call me again. What happened last night won't ever happen again, as such you have absolutely no right to question me or call me. Have a beautiful day Kevin" and with that, she hung up.

If it was not for the fact that she amused me in an unexplainable way, I would have been seething. But all I could do was smile. A nasty, twisted smile.

I was gonna get her to be mine. No matter the cost.
