Leona didn't know why Grayson was in love with her. He was a troubled boy with a long history of crimes he may have committed. Crimes that were dismissed. This was not the type of boy to take home to mama and was definitely not the type of boy to be dating. But she did that anyway.
When Grayson was arrested on suspicion of murder, Leona got caught up in it.
To save the boy she loved so much was risky and Leona would try just about anything to keep him out of jail. Just because he was a lunatic doesn't mean he was guilty of such crime.
She knew Grayson was not guilty of this crime. And the person who may have done it could be... closer than she think. Maybe love was making her delusional... or maybe not.
